The song “Like A Child” has been featured in an upcoming indie film called Oversold. It’s from a band called Sunshop. A band that has been done since 1996 but started all this mess with Tone Box. The song was written and performed by Tone Box Digital owner Jason Bradford.

Classic Altar Boys Albums Out Now

We are excited to annouce that the long awaited albums that put the Altar Boys on the map have hit iTunes and multiple other outlets. Albums like Gut Level Music and Against The Grain have been major influences in the alt rock and punk rock genre for years. Also released are demos and solo projects of band leader Mike Stand.

New Distribution Outlets : September 2008

Two new outlets added this month. Halcyon is focused on indie music selling both music and merchandise. They will be taking only selected tracks for the catalog. Junketboy was put together by dozens of physical music retailers around the US. The too will be accepting selected tracks for distribution.

August 2008

Just added DJ Downloads and MusiClassics to the outlets. Both are market sensitive outlets and ingest only specific items that relate to their customer base.

DJ Downloads is a global one-stop shop for everything dance and electronic [that] will be recognized for efficiency, simplicity, customer service and music range.
Musiclassics is France’s largest digital retailer of classical music, offering a download store and subscription service.

eMusic Canada, Hudson video and R2G (First outlet in mainland China) – These services will be available summer 2008 to applicable releases.

The R2G deal is a major one for indie music. This deal will represent 253 million plus users on China’s largest digital distribution outlet. This is a first for indie music from the US.

We are excited to see how this continues to play and to offer our artists the opportunity to reach this audience.

Tom Yarbrough is an obscure but powerful musical force. With a heartfelt approach that somehow avoids stereotypical “Music City” commerciality, Yarbrough crafts sincere and insightful love songs which often defy categorization. From his hideaway in South Nashville, amidst the sound of freight trains and Norteno music, he has quietly finished recording the songs that will make up his debut record. The sounds are, at the same time, both familiar and peculiar. Traditional acoustic guitar and vocal arrangements are supported by drums, foot stomping, hand percussion, grinding electric guitar feedback and reverb drenched mandolins. Lyrics about the pains of past relationships are countered by songs of devotion so intense that most would call it borderline obsessive. Running through the center of it all is that worn but willing voice and the ageless spirit of the song.
